So, I played my first 90 minutes in 4,5 months, and it was a win! I got to play center back, a position I actually really like and it went well. I thought I did really well in the air and in organizing the back line. We really play completely direct so there were a couple of times I had the ball and it felt like I was fighting the urge to possess it like I like or launch it, and then in the mid zone of that decision I made a pass that got picked. But that will come with some time and adjusting to a new team. I guess I have to say that I’m not entirely excited to play “war” soccer as opposed to “nice” soccer, but like I said in the last post, I just want to be playing and contributing, and if that’s the way it is for now then I will get used to it and make the best of it. We did win with the stellar finishing of another new player Edite, the captain of Portugal, who is an absolute treat to watch and me and the Floya girls, Hannah, Lauren and Leah did drive up to Oslo after to spend the night with the friends from Kolbotn and it was all in all a great night.

I just want to take this last paragraph to give a massive shout out to my coach at Kolbotn, Dan Eggen. He is a famous player in Norway–he was playing center back when Norway beat Brazil in the 1998 World Cup and he played for Brondby and in Spain in La Liga. I think all things considered he is the best coach I have ever had in terms of how he has treated people, how he has brought the best out of players and got them to overperform, what I have learned tactically as a defender from him and just how much I have enjoyed my soccer experience under him despite all the injuries that I have. I just feel really blessed to have had 1.5 years with him leading my soccer life and am going to miss him alot. As a sidenote, he took the time after my game with Donn to text me to congratulate me on the win and playing the whole game and told me how happy he was for me. He is just an absolute class act.
